Live the Braai life!
Sustainability and a healthy lifestyle is becoming more important. We are trying to do our bit by means of a GreenGrill coating on most of our cooking surfaces.
The GreenGrill is a ceramic coating that is harder wearing than regular non-stick coatings. This makes it more resistant against high temperatures. The heat is distributed more evenly and retained, so less gas is used during baking and grilling.
Most non-stick coatings contain PFTE, also known as Teflon. When this coating gets too hot, it releases toxic substances such as PFOA. Our GreenGrill is PFTE- and PFOA-free. No toxic substances are released during baking and grilling, which is of course better for your health.
Before you start, it is important to first heat up the GreenGrill, this is called seasoning. Seasoning provides the pan or cooking grid with a thin protective layer, which makes the food less sticky during cooking. How to do this is explained below:
After you've barbecued to the max, everything has to be cleaned up. With the GreenGrill coating, this becomes an easy job.
After barbecuing, you should first let the barbecue cool down. Extreme temperature changes can cause deformation of the cooking surface. Then you can clean the cooking surface with warm water and soapy water using a soft dishwashing brush or sponge. Be careful, do not use an abrasive sponge or steel wool.
Are you completely done cleaning your GreenGrill? Then, we recommend lightly rubbing the coating with some kitchen paper and a few drops of oil. The oil seals the surface from the outside air and moisture. To keep the supplied storage bag clean, it is best to put the cooking surface first in a plastic bag and then in the bag. The storage bag ensures that the GreenGrill coating is not damaged.
